Book a break away with your significant other in this unique, one-bedroom cottage situated metres from Fowey’s attractions. The town’s quaint harbour, a yacht club, Fowey Landing (for ferries across to Polruan’s castle and inns) and several bars and restaurants are within half a mile of the property. Travel a mile and a half south of the cottage and you’ll take in the pretty beach of Readymoney Cove that’s ideal for a gentle dip, the 16th-century ruins of St Catherine’s Castle, Fowey’s majestic Lighthouse and the National Trust’s Fowey Estuary estate, which backs onto the South West Coast Path. Meander just over half a mile further west from here and you’ll reach Blackmore Beach and Polridmouth Cove.
On entering the property, a hallway leads to the king-size bedroom, accompanied by an en-suite with a walk-in double-size rainfall shower. Also on the ground floor is an understairs cupboard with a washer/dryer that allows laundry to be contained away from the living space. From here, the staircase leads up to the open-plan living area, with a sofa, quirky easy chairs, industrial-style lighting and a dining set for two. This is complemented by a high-end bespoke fitted kitchen, multiple windows allowing light to flood in and a vaulted apex ceiling, with rustic wooden beams. The room enjoys pretty views across the town and estuary and the interior has underfloor heating throughout.
In front of the main door, a spacious terrace is enclosed by walls and a metal gate. Furnished with wooden seating and a low table, it provides space to relax with a book, or eat a light meal and take in the sunshine.
